I believe that government has three primary responsibilities – Public Safety, Public Schools and Public Infrastructure. Within the context of these priorities, government must provide accessibility to services and to their representative as well as accountability and transparency, to show that tax dollars are wisely spent. Raised in an extended family that was very involved in community, political and charitable works, I began volunteering alongside my parents as a young child and began working on projects independently as a teen. I attended Florida Southern College and later Virginia Commonwealth University, completing degrees in Psychology and Rehabilitation Services. I’ve lived in the city of Richmond for the past 17 years, 15 of them in Woodland Heights where I presently live with my husband and first grader.
